TEA GARDENS - A
comprehensive range of snacks and drinks is available
throughout the day.
POST OFFICE & MUSEUM - The
Island Post Office provides all the normal
services of a sub-post offiice. Postcards bearing a Caldey Souvenir
Stamp and special
covers posted on the island receive a Caldey Island
handstamp. The Museum offers a glimpse into
the history and heritage of Caldey.
PERFUME SHOP - The high quality perfumes
and toiletries made by the Monks of Caldey can
be tried and purchased here.
SHOP - Offers a wide range of gifts and
souvenirs including products made on the island such as
the famous Abbots Kitchen Chocolate
CHOCOLATE FACTORY - The chocolate making room, known on the island as the chocolate "factory", although actually more like a large kitchen, is where the Abbots Kitchen Chocolate bars are hand-made using the finest couverture. Visitors can buy chocolate and fudge and glimpse the process from a small viewing and sales area .
MONASTIC SERVICES - Two short monastic services take place during the visitor day, at 12.15pm (Office of Sext) and 2.20pm (Office of None), in the Abbey Church. Visitors are welcome to attend
VIDEO - The Video "The
Monks of Caldey Island" features
members of the monastic community talking about their way
of life. The video lasts about 15 minutes and runs
continuously. There is no charge.
TOILETS - Inculding BABY CHANGING FACILITIES and fully fitted DISABLED CUBICLE
- Centrally located, opposite the Post Office.
